PROCTALGIA FUGAX - ANAL CRAMPING PAIN RELIEF REMEDY

PROCTALGIA FUGAX (PF) - ANAL CRAMPING PAIN RELIEF REMEDY

It is believed Julius Caesar suffered from Proctalgia Fugax, and his public fits were actually severe PF attacks. Maybe Proctalgia Fugax sufferers have a Julius Caesar PF gene in their bodies?

Proctalgia Fugax (PF) is a condition characterized by brief, sudden spasms of rectal pain. These attacks can last up to 30 minutes before disappearing. It affects adults and is more prevalent in women. The exact cause is not certain, but Proctalgia Fugax is believed to stem from activity of a muscle or nerve issue.

The pain is solely experienced in the anus or rectum. People describe it as aching, cramping, gnawing, or stabbing. The intensity of the pain can vary widely, and it is often severe². In most cases, these attacks are fairly infrequent and occur less than five times per year.

Proctalgia Fugax pain may be due to spasms of the muscles of the pelvic floor, rectum, or anal sphincter. Compression of the primary nerve in the anal and genital region—called the pudendal nerve —may also cause these short and intermittent pains. In addition, there is some evidence to suggest that the nervous system's messages between the brain and digestive tract are altered in people who experience Proctalgia Fugax.

Although painful, PF is not a sign of a serious bowel disease. Sometimes, there may be identifiable situations that precede Proctalgia Fugax episodes, including bowel movements, constipation, during/after sex, during menstruation, and times of high anxiety or stress. Proctalgia Fugax may also occur after sclerotherapy for haemorrhoid treatment or after a hysterectomy. People who have irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) also may be at higher risk of experiencing this condition.

Proven Remedy for Cramp Pain relief

Written by a 76-year-old male in a male/female relationship, who has suffered from Proctalgia Fugax for 46 years... and has the answer to controlling the associated pain!

"When I was a 30-year-old, I seriously thought the severe pain I was experiencing from Proctalgia Fugax anal cramps would kill me when I became older. The attacks were more severe and frequent when I was younger but PF still returns every few months in a less severe form. Fortunately, over the years through experimentation I was able to find a way to live with it.
I just hope they keep making the magic little tablet I chew on when I have an attack. And the answer is no, I don't have an interest or shares in the company. :-)
I understand that you can't cure Proctalgia Fugax but you certainly can effectively deal with reducing the symptoms of a PF anal cramp spasm by using the following technique –

As soon as you feel an anal cramp attack coming on –

  1. Chew on one Schuessler Muscle Relaxant (Mag Pos). In most cases you will feel instant relief and the pain will begin to disappear in two or three minutes. Keep them handy on your bedside table with a glass of water. The tablets are cheap and available online or in most good Health Food shops. It is the only form of magnesium I have found available which works instantly through your saliva. It also helps with foot/leg cramps in bed. Keep a watch on the expiry date.

  2. After a few minutes, to let the Mag Phos absorb through your saliva, drink a half a glass of water. Follow up with the other half in about 5 minutes.

  3. As the pain subsides from step 1 & 2, sit or preferably lie down and place an electric heat pad under your bottom to warm the anal area. This further relaxes the muscles and will help to ensure the pain doesn't return.

  4. After you have placed the heat pad, consciously relax your body as much as you can with controlled breathing. You will find you will feel very fatigued after an attack subsides, and if you are in bed, you will usually fall asleep.

General Observations
Stay hydrated. This is crucial, as being dehydrated is almost always associated with an attack. Particularly if your anal area becomes cold or you are sleeping with a leg bent and pulled up towards your chest, stretching the anal area. For males having sexual intercourse with a leg in this position, stretching the anal area, an erection or ejaculation may trigger a Proctalgia Fugax episode.

Take Precautions – Be Prepared

  1. Carry Schuessler Muscle Relaxant (Mag Pos) with you at all times.

  2. When travelling, pack a heat pack or hot water bottle.

  3. Stay well hydrated.

This simple approach should make life more comfortable for Proctalgia Fugax sufferers."
